Practical And Elegant Access To Back Door Via Staircases

13 April 2015

Often wondered how to deal with the awkward drop from the back door to the garden or patio area, or gain access into your lightwell? Want to make a feature of the access and area rather than just have a few boring normal steps? Want to have a staircase that it noticed? Then look no further – British Spirals & Castings has something to offer whether traditional or contemporary.

More and more people are contacting us for solutions that are a little different and unique, to provide access from one level to another even when the change in level is minimal and will not be used as an everyday staircase. With a range of straight staircase, spiral staircase and a combination of both spiral and straight treads in a Victorian, Modern Art Deco and contemporary Georgian design, British Spirals & Castings are able to help create different looks to complement different environments and styles of building through the supply of their bespoke, tailor made staircases.

LCC tread for spiral staircaseAlthough the Victorian range remains a firm favourite amongst our clients because of the traditional, elegant and ornate design of the treads and balusters and the detail which makes the staircase more of a feature to that of a normal staircase, our Georgian feel LCC range is hot on its heels. The LCC range offers clients a more simplistic yet still classic solution. The uniform square hole design with plain round or square balusters are a very popular choice in the London area as people try and create a traditional look from the past with a modern and timeless twist.

Because all our staircase and balconies are made to individual clients requirements we also have the ability to add small balcony areas to the staircases to give the feeling of two tiered area and offer an alternative to standard decking. A client in Finland looked to create a similar feel with a 3 tread Victorian straight staircase connecting to a 1950 x 1800mm balcony areas with matching Victorian decking plates that make up the balcony floor before continuing up another three steps to reach the desired height.

As clients look to utilise the space around them more and concentrate on home improvements, a sometimes small staircase and/or balcony can help create a big statement.
